xx years old
xx is 20 in roman numerals right? i think so...

had a pretty awesome long weekend.
on sat night went to zouk for the calvin harris dj set, which was rather fun except that it was too crowded with ang mohs and there was not space to move!! no dance=no fun!! at least the music was danceable.
on sunday my sister and i headed to zouk (again!) after lunch for the flea and easy thing. made a few bargains and bought some tees yes!

then at night i caught florence and the machine at the esplanade theater. the opening act was none other than the xx... super hype? it was so beautiful.
the xx began with the album opener "intro", obviously, which really got me shaking with excitement, like my whole body was just vibrating uncontrollably. "islands" was another really awesome one which got me all swaying my head to the tune. damn i wish i had my fringe... i'd be all swaying and my fringe sweeping the seat in front of me, like i was on something. they more or less played all their songs on the album. i thought the acoustics of the venue really did them justice, they sounded way better than the record. oliver's deep voicals intertwined with romy's surprisingly clear yet husky voice. magical. closing song was "crystallized", which saw oliver wildly crashing on the cymbals!! jamie was really into it as well!

florence and the machine was like an opposite to the xx. she was wild and playful... screaming and howling dramatically! she wore a long black and gold gown-like-dress, maybe going for the witch look? whatever it was... i was into it. my favs were "cosmic love" and "blinding". love how she borrowed the audience's polaroid to take a picture of the crowd so she could keep it was memorabilia. all in all both acts were satisfying!

moving on... monday night my family and i went to this blu restaurant at shangri-la hotel.
thanks everyone for the birthday wishes! i appreciate them!
